Ride in the Kevin Adorno Memorial Ride

Please join us for the 1st annual Kevin Adorno Memorial Ride & Festival at Winding Trails in Farmington on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Come out for a 50-Mile or 25-Mile Bike Ride, a 5k Trail Run, or simply be a part of the festival later on in the day in memory of Kevin Adorno. This event is brought to you by Bicycle Friendly Farmington and the Family and Friends of Kevin.

Kevin Adorno was born and raised in Farmington where he and his family enjoyed all of the wonderful things that the town had to offer. Kevin attended Noah Wallace School, Irving Robbins, and Farmington High School. He actively participated in soccer, football and lacrosse, and graduated from FHS in 2004. He went on to take classes at Tunxis Community College before graduating from Central Connecticut State University with a degree in Graphic Design. Kevin was the owner of Bevy Productions and Media as well as My Pencil Portraits, where he demonstrated his incredible artistic abilities.

Kevin always had a sense of adventure and had a particular gift for meeting people and finding out what made them unique. He enjoyed learning about the things they did and then trying them himself. He loved to travel and see new places. By 28, Kevin had backpacked through Europe, toured the country by car, and biked the entire east coast.

On September 1, 2014, Kevin was at the tail end of his Maryland to Miami, Florida bicycling tour to complete the east coast adventure he started in the Summer of 2013, with a successful ride from Maine to Maryland. His journey was interrupted in Vero Beach by an unexpected attack by a homeless man that ended his life. He was just 140 miles from Miami.

This Ride & Festival honors the life and legacy of a wonderful, adventurous, giving, athletic, fun loving person, Kevin Adorno. All proceeds benefit The Kevin Adorno Memorial Fund and Bicycle Friendly Farmington.

Register for the ride, run, and festival today. Volunteers are also needed to assist in various capacities during the day. Please contact adornoride@gmail.com if you can help.
